Gently Falling Candle

I am really excited about this candle!  I found it at Old Time Pottery and noticed the colors at the top were perfect for a fall themed candle.  Here is another example of how you can stamp on candles.  You can see a short video tutorial at the bottom of this post.

Supplies:
candle
Stamp Set: Gently Falling (new FAVORITE set, Grateful Greetings
Ink: Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede
Tools: scissors, 1/16" hole punch
Accessories: tissue paper, wax paper, natural hemp twine, our new spice cake designer buttons  (And yes, they are that BIG!)

Here are some pictures going around the candle.

I put the Thanksgiving thought on the back so if people just wanted a fall theme, no one would see this.  But, it adds something fun to the back :)

Here is my tutorial.

spice cake broach

I'm a big fan of this broach.  This broach is a little different than the ones everyone is making with the flower folds die.  This is using the fun flowers die.  It has 3 different flower sizes on it.  I cut out 2-3 flowers of each size in different fabrics.  I actually sprayed them with fabric starch, balled it up as tightly as I could and let them dry.  It took a long time to dry.  I actually got my heat tool out to help it along.  That worked well.  Once they were dry, I just opened them up, but didn't flatten them out.  I layered them on top of each other, pierced it with the paper piercer and put an antique brad in the middle.  I would recommend even putting a piece of cardstock or cardboard on the back.  Then glue a pin to the back...or put it on a covered headband. This looks great on my jean jacket :)  Happy Crafting!

Supplies:
fabric starch (I used Niagra)
Spice Cake Designer Fabric
Fun Flowers Die and the big shot
paper piercer and heat tool (to help drying process)
antique brad

Flirtatious Headband

I am so excited to share my latest obsession with you.  I know many of you don't give a flip about hairbow and headbands, but for some reason, I am LOVING them right now and loving it even more that I can make it with Stampin' Up! Fabric!  It's a great way to share our company with people who aren't interested in our paper/ink/stamp product lines.

Supplies:
headband to cover, hot glue gun, lighter to heat seal ribbon
Flirtatious designer fabric
melon mambo scalloped ribbon
To Make Fabric Flower:
Cut 1 circle from Circles#2 die (larger one)
Cut 7 circles from the clear circle die
On each larger circle put a dot of hot glue in the middle and fold circle in half.  Put another dot of hot glue in the middle of the fold and fold it again.  So, basically you have a circle folded in quarters.
Take your smaller circle and put a big dot of hot glue in the center and put 4 folded quarter circles on top, meeting in the middle.  Then, put another dot of glue in the middle of that and layer the last 3 circles on top.  Fluff it up and hot glue it onto the covered headband.  I suggest looking in a mirror to place the flower so you don't look like a goof :)  I have worn this headband out in public and don't feel like a total goob.  I'm bringing the headband back for women!

Have you seen all our fabrics?  Here they are.

Mosaic Pennant Punch

I am sorry to say I can't remember where I saw this picture.  It wasn't on Stampin' Connection.  I'm not sure I really like the color combo I chose so the next time I make it, I'll probably do a black/white theme.  When I saw this, the creator had framed just the triangle patterns.  It was lovely.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Bring on the Cake
Ink: Baja Breeze
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Whisper white, Pear Pizzazz
Ribbon: 5/8" grosgrain daffodil delight (retired)
Tools: dotted scallop ribbon border punch, petite pennant punch, wide oval punch, decorative label punch

As a tip, I cut a piece of white cardstock I wanted the main image size to be.  Then I just snailed on the triangles and cut around the edges.

Give me an "E"

Have you ever worked on a project like this and felt like some of the pieces weren't as creative as the others?  Well, this is the letter that got the least creative vote :)  Did you know you could flip our adorable owl upside down to make a cute ghost?  Man, I am always impressed with what other come up with.  Have you noticed how much you can do with the owl punch?  YOU HAVE TO GET IT!
Supplies:
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Frightful Sight DSP
Tools: Big Shot, Serif Essentials Dies, owl punch

We will provide you with a picture tutorial along with access to my youtube video tutorial. In addition to all these projects, the 2 tutorials, you will go home with a bunch of extra supplies to make more of these at home including extra ribbon, hairclips, fabric and buttons.

ALL OF THIS FOR $25!!

I will need this rsvp by next Friday the 9th. We are limiting each class to 10 people so if more want to participate, we will open a 2nd class!  Click here to rsvp

CLASS SUPPLIES: A glue gun, dental floss and sharp scissors

I really hope you are as excited about this class as I am!

Final Project Revealed!

I hate to break regularly scheduled blog posts, but...

Announcing my Halloween Punch Art Frame Class!
(sorry the picture isn't great)

This class will be Sunday September 18th at 2pm.  The cost for this class will be $30 and will include the frame.  Last year I offered a Christmas Punch Art Calendar take home kit, but sad to say, SU! doesn't sell the 6x6 desktop calendars anymore....so, this is my punch art class for the fall!  I can easily prepare a take home kit for anyone and send it to your home....but, I can't send you the frame (if you are out of town ) :(  I found this frame at Old Time Pottery if you have one in your area.  The take home kit with the frame will be $35.  The kit w/o the frame will be $20.

I will need RSVPs by Wed Sept 7th....sorry for the short notice.  rsvp here.
I hope you can make it!
